I've authored, co-authored and edited many academic publications in the fields of social work and criminal justice, most recently with the Center for Restorative Justice & Peacemaking at the University of Minnesota. Facing Violence: The Path of Restorative Justice and Dialogue, by Mark Umbreit, Betty Vos, Robert B. Coates and Katherine A. Brown, describes the experience of victims and offenders in cases of violent crime who chose to meet each other in facilitated dialogue.
